One Last Time

His hand felt cold. Rohan started rubbing Aarav's hand against his. The constant beeps from the bedside monitor woke him up a few seconds ago. Aarav was still asleep, may be the heavy doses of medicine numbed these beeps for him, he thought. He gently placed Aarav's hand back on the bed. It was almost 2AM, Rohan noticed that he was asleep for last 2 hours. He got up, rubbed his eyes, drank a glass of water and sat back on the bedside stool, taking Aarav's hand back in his hand.  He looked at Aarav's face, his eyes were again in tears. This was the third time he cried since the doctors told him earlier that this might be the last night for Aarav, as the infection has affected all his crucial organs and most of them have already failed. Rohan hated that Aarav was heavily sedated and asleep even when there were only a few moments left that he could spend with Aarav. He wanted to see his smile again, may be one last time. But, waking him up now will be very painful for Aara

The Meta Life

Zeal life corporation was conceptualized in a small dorm room of Texas University by Alex & Rajeev. At that time, they would not have imagined that it would become world's largest corporation in 2070, employing 90% of world's population. It's been 20 years since the inception of Zeal life corporation's patented service 'The Meta Life', which gives you assurance of a specific life at a very high price. A tear drop trickled down James's eye as he saw Susan standing in front of him. It had been more than 2 years, since the day she went missing from their apartment in the city. She looked as beautiful as she did on that day, but her face had no expression, like the face of a dead person. James lowered his gun. He was investigating an underground storage suspected to be a safe house of the Kushkov cartel based on the intelligence he received from the agency. James was overwhelmed, he had assumed that Susan was dead for a long time now and looking at her now standing in front of him, alive and healthy, made him happy for a moment. As he took the first step towards her, she quickly pulled up the gun in her hand and shot James directly in his heart three times. The shots were quick and precise, as if fired by a highly trained personnel.  Kushkov cartel was a very discrete and successful gang of London with large international operations. The police as well as the national intelligence a

High in Life

The inspector instantly knew what has happened in the room, just as he broke open the door. In that dark room, a man was sitting on a chair behind a table. A beam of light was entering the room along with the inspector from a lightbulb in the hallway. He slowly walked towards the man who had confessed of a murder to the inspector on the phone, just an hour ago. The inspector moved forward with one hand on his holstered gun, but he knew that the man in chair was already dead. He was alone in the room.  He gently touched the mans' wrist, no pulse. He turned around to check the room rather the office. Nothing out of the ordinary except for a gun in the left hand of the dead man and some scattered papers on the table. The paper on top read, 'I KILLED ADITYA KASHYAP AND MYSELF'. The Inspector was shocked. Aditya Kashyap was a big philanthropist who was recently murdered in his office. 'But why', thought the inspector. He was part of the Aditya Kashyap murder investigatio
