Mistakes. We should make some

We live in a world of perfection. A world where perfection is worshiped, desired, praised. No one wants to fail or commit smallest of mistakes. Student want to achieve the highest grade, employees want to grab the highest incentives, parents want there children to ace in exams and at the same time want them to be good at sports. Everyone wants to do the right thing, at the right time, at the right place in the perfect manner. No one wants to fail or rather no one wants to be wrong.

So why we feel so? The answer lies in the core reason behind all our actions, 'What the world will think of us?' We don't want to be seen as a failure or looser. We are ready to do anything to avoid one bad thing said about us or to achieve the so called perfection. Another reason could be, we don't want to be different. Those who are different are talked about, criticized. not supported, looked at differently. We don't want a crowd to stare at us or to talk about us, right. We live for the reflection that the world gets from us.

But this thing of being right every time or rather, trying not to do something wrong is hampering our growth, creativity and risk handling capability. Be it the first handkerchief or a house, no one wants to pick the wrong one. But, what if we do. Then, we freak out. We don't know what to do because we are not prepared to handle such situation or have never faced such situation. It can be easily observed that people who tend to make mistakes, are more clam than others in time of crisis.

Why we should make mistakes or said in a more blunt way, Why we should accept that we are wrong? We can learn from our mistakes only when we stop denying them. Mistakes we make are meant to guide us not define us. If we won't accept that we are wrong then we will truly be wrong. This obsession of self righteousness is dangerous and self consuming. We are taught from childhood to be perfect in everything to live a successful life. But how can one be success unless he/she tries something different than the others which will definitely a mistake from other's point of view.

The perception that we are always right is the most common reason behind our conflicts. This perception is applicable to groups also. A group of people might consider their action as right and anyone who don't follow their action is seen as wrong and not fit for the group. The people who try to change might be wrong for the group or even themselves, but they are the one who are responsible for the greatest things human beings experience. A person can't be brilliant until he puts his/her brilliance to test whether he/she can achieve what we call greatness.

In my opinion, we should not wrap ourselves in a perception where we cannot be wrong. We all have our own perceptions so, we are definitely wrong in someone's view. So, let's dare to be incorrect and try out something which we are afraid, we would fail in.

The two gross mistakes are, not admitting our old mistakes and being afraid of committing new one's. Mistakes are the proof that we are trying. So let's try and make mistakes.

Failure is an option.
