The Meta Life

Zeal life corporation was conceptualized in a small dorm room of Texas University by Alex & Rajeev. At that time, they would not have imagined that it would become world's largest corporation in 2070, employing 90% of world's population. It's been 20 years since the inception of Zeal life corporation's patented service 'The Meta Life', which gives you assurance of a specific life at a very high price. For example, Mr. Ralph of Brazil bought himself the Meta life in 300 Million USD a year and got 20 stacks in return. Each stack represent 500 people who are trained to behave in a certain way. So with 20 stacks, Mr. Ralph gets a tailored life around him. 10000 people live and breathe as he wants, be it about his business or his social life. Shaun, one of the these 10000 people is responsible for accompanying Mr. Ralph on his morning running, Cynthia is part of the large security team, Raul is head of his social life and many such employees of Zeal life corporation as part of his 20 stacks. With 10000 people living as he likes, Mr. Ralph basically owns a town. But he is not even in the top 100 customers of The Meta Life. 

In 2070, Zeal Life corporation employs around 10 billion people on earth, each one of them is part of a stack owned by a filthy rich person. The biggest customer that Zeal Life corporation has is a Chinese drug lord who purchased 10 Million stacks and virtually all of China. 

When it started, Alex and Rajeev saw the company grow 10 times every year and every year Alex grew more skeptical about the Meta Life as handful of people started controlling cities, states, countries and even the world. In late 2050s, Alex decided to leave the corporation as they got into a big fight and Rajeev refused to pull the plug on it. Today Alex is part of the 2% World population that is neither an employee nor a customer of Zeal life corporation. Life is hard for this group of people as every task is a fight against the already defined setup of towns, cities and states. This 2% of world population is called Anti-Metas even though they do not have any agenda against the Meta life and are only trying to survive, but Zeal Life corporation sees them as a threat. The size of Zeal life is so enormous now and so intricately woven into the social fabric that if it fails the whole world would go into stone age. Its few customers control thousands of business empires, universities, governments and even countries. 

Alex fears that with such power, Rajeev would just push a button some day and the 2% will cease to exist.
